How do I use chat on a mac?

I can't figure out how to use yahoo chat rooms and I have a mac, is this why?

I'm so totally computer illiterate! I've been wanting to use yahoo chat rooms but can't figure out how to get into them. When I go to the link provided it says the page is invalid. And the way it shows to get to them from the yahoo messenger doesn't work for me because it's a earlier version of messenger for macs. Can I not use the chat because I have a mac or am i just an idiot?

Ok, first and foremost: you're not an idiot (not that I really can tell from not knowing you, but let's just pretend). Chat rooms are not available for Yahoo!
