It is a very complicated process, but it can be done. Unfortunately, some questions may also be filed on sites other than regular search engines too. You have started well, by having the question deleted by Yahoo itself. Each search engine will delete the question from its cache whenever it gets around to refreshing the page ... The word 'cache' shows up next to Google entries. (You've probably seen this before but never bothered with what it is.) It's like a stored version of the site when Google last updated the page search, which it does to every site every so often. If you search for a deleted entry in Google the cache will still have it there, even though it has been removed from the actual site. You need to tell Google it is deleted or changed. For example, you have a Yahoo Answers account - first, you need to delete the content from the original web page completely. If you do not own the site where the link is posted, the owner must indicate that it is okay to remove the information, in one of several ways with computer codes. Contact the site's webmaster: http://www.google.com/support/websearch/bin/answer.py?answer=9109 - after you've deleted your page or certain entries, it will then say no info etc. If you hit the 'cache' button, it's like a saved version and you can see everything! It will still show all that info in the Google cache, at least until the next time Google refreshes its page search for those entries. This could take a while to remove from the search list. Use the URL removal tool (with a shortened URL service so the information never re-appears from the URL link) http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=164734&from=92865&rd=1 Full Details: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/10/managing-your-reputation-through-search.html http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/03/url-removal-explained-part-i-urls.html http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/04/url-removals-explained-part-ii-removing.html I assume Bing and other search sites are similar, but I have no links for those.
