On the "new" yahoo home page, why does my favorites box come up blank causing my internet to freeze?

Ever since I installed the new Yahoo, I've been having problems. At least once a day when I click on the star for favorites, the box comes up blank and my internet freezes. I have to close down the internet and start over...why does this happen?
