How do I get my avatar to work?

I have made an avatar, but I can't get it to show up...I usually make it right before posting a question/answer, but then it doesn't show up..what to do?

Answer:
Go into you E-mail for yahoo, then on the main page there will be a little box with a gray person facing away, click on that and you can work on it from there!!!!!!!!

Create a 360 page and set the picture you want as primary. I don't get why you make it right before posting a question/answer, I don't know what that is and I don't think that's the right way to do it.
