  Yes you can! I have done this before with my old PSP al though the amount they offered was very low I still took the credit because I was poor and really wanted the new Mario game at the time. But they usually either add it up if you want to buy it on that day at the register and if you want to come back they will put the credit on a gift card so you can come back anytime and use it :)
