Yahoo! Contributors suck at their jobs... why is this so?

I hope I'm not the only one who's noticed... but for at least the past 6 months, several out of the many Yahoo! articles I read on the Yahoo! homepage lack credibility, writing talent and knowledge of the topics at hand. It seems like every article I come across has countless grammatical errors and typos. They also have no clue what they're talking about. Their claims are very odd and can easily be debunked... So, no I have to question these Yahoo! Contributors: Who gave them the job to write articles for Yahoo? How did they get the job (what kind or prior experience was needed?) Are they freelance consultant writers or are they actually on the payroll in regards to salary? Why are their articles always done with half-*** quality?
