Why is technology becoming more affordable?

Are we becoming slaves of this technology and why a virtual world is more enjoyable than reality?

  • Why do we have to stay hours in front of this machine instead of enjoying life, why does every new technology become an addiction , has anyone tried living without a cellphone after getting used to it?

    Thing with the virtual world is, you don't actually have to deal with ppl. I mean, u communicate thru chattin, mailin etc but u know that if u dont like what someone is saying, u can always turn off ur computer or simply avoid them altogether. Much more difficult to shut an actual person out of ur life and avoid them. I think this medium offers us an escape; but at the cost of forming and maintaining real relationships. We'd rather chat online than actually spend time with someone.

Well, thats one way to looks at it. People often do rely on technology and probably couldn't do with out it, myself included. The thing is, when your in a virtual world, you can pretend that you're someone who your not normally seen as and no one really cares. You can escape all your worries or problems and relax a bit by going on your favourite website or playing games or whatever. You can also meet new people and have fun. So, technology isn't all bad. While yes, there are some bad inventions our there, not all of it is bad. We just need to realise that we can live without technology and that it shouldn't rule our lives.

The problem at least for me is that even though I live in a city full of people I am still very much alone. Online, you can interact with others without having to first form bonds that would take a while in real life. Unfortunately for me, I never seem to form those types of bonds for long.
