[Hi, this is my first ever post here~this briefcase bumbling propelled me!...Pardon the length and whatever etiquette i may have stepped on:)] Yes yes, we all know we all should have downloaded earlier /:-) But also, it hasn't been easy getting anything downloaded--whether it be Mar 2 or 30--I've tried at least once a week to get those darn files downloaded & it's slooow or no-go most times--grr~! I too, was counting on at least Yah! paying attention to the 30th and prepare for the massive download demands!~Briefcase's one of the 1st online file storages & we number at least in the millions *around* the world! Inre Yah! HQ time zones-if it's HQ, then it's Cali-PST-which should mean even *more* time for most ppl stateside, assuming midnite is the end (as it is for most places). Shouldn't Yah! have some sort of xtra-tech functionality to allow ppl to download their briefcase in a swoop, or even folders instead of individ files by files (even with 'check all')...I expected sth like this the first time I checked my briefcase (i haven't used it awhile, using it more when abroad and as backup to my usbs-it's more convenient to have backups when already logged in acct. I always felt 'safe' with briefcase, even when i didn't use it every day-but just knowing it's 'out there' was reassuring;o) AND anyways, why do they need to delete briefcase? Is this some uptight-wallstrty-anal consulting company's advising to the restructuring Yah! ? Briefcase seems so inconsequential amongst their massive tech portfolio, I dunno why they even want to bother with the effort/work/energy investment to take it all down & delete mil+ folders. Or even they could just let it go~no active support, but still able to access, available & maintained under your login acct (since they do ask for your login if you want to do anything anywhere) Finally in this venting--IF they insist it be absolutely off their servers/wherever-couldn't the Yah! Major IT-Admin whizzes simply transfer the briefcase content to the email acct we have it under (eg, 'you've got mail!-really really big mail!';-)?! No engineer-techie but that seems similar to, um, Import/Export or Global Settings, or heck, Sync or whatever! Couldn't the big honcho masterminds figure out this easily?;-) I was really counting on this along with expectation that "30th" meant up and after!--not to mention the "Tuesday, March 30th" info on their web sites. (btw, don't you think it was rather poorly publicized...? i found out more from other site & generic searches! I miss J.YANG!!!~Then it was all about the customer & the user-experience. This was their differentiation, esp inre Goog & MSN, who were more tech-tool-interfx 'brand id'--& Y! under Yang & ppl was emphasis on brand id-user experience; ie, a slightly stronger focus on being a _media_ co.; I dunno the muddled brand-id-user experience that Y! is trying to build these days..? II'm still trying to stay with out of loyalty (wtf is 'labels'?!), nostalgia (my 'first';) --& bc i don't like big bullies crowding out or picking on the 'different' kid (weren't we all at some pt?;) !

Yahoo should allow us access to Briefcase at least through today if not also through tomorrow since there is no such date as Tuesday, March 30, 2009. Plus they stated that AFTER (not ON) this date we would not be able to access our Briefcase files. I also suggest that today we flood Yahoo customer service (1-866-562-7219) with phone calls about our outrage over this Briefcase closure confusion in an effort to encourage them to allow us one or two days more access to our Briefcase files. We should all at least give it a try. Come on people. . . there is strength in numbers!

You should have downloaded the files sooner. I am just saying it know it's too late and you are probably mad. Possibly where Yahoo! operates from it is already March 31... Back when Yahoo! briefcase's 30 MB was lots of space, but since Yahoo! mail is now unlimited that's nothing. However it was good to have a place to share files. They should have made Yahoo! briefcase have more space an continue it. If it actually isn't the 31st where are then they are in the wrong. Either way I want Yahoo! briefcase to be back, but I still prepared for it's closing ASAP.
