Why is Yahoo's homepage moving me to the Mobile Yahoo?

How does Yahoo know I'm moving and my friends not?

I haven't told too many people I'm moving to a town 300 miles away later this year. But I notice on the Yahoo! homepage today the local news stories have switched from my current town to the new town -- even though I haven't moved yet. How does Yahoo know to post stories about my new town? I know it's done through bots, but how more precisely?
