How do you get rid of a Top Contributor badge?

• Didn't log on for about 3 weeks but the badge is still there. It feels stupid getting a TC badge in a section you rarely spend time on, don't really fancy or rarely log onto YA! altogether.

  You would have to stay out of the category that you earned the badge. I had three categories for my top contributor badge and it took me nearly 10 weeks before the badge went away. I stayed out of the categories and to be honest I spent weeks just voting and not even answering other questions around the site. I enjoyed all my categories but I found that the questions were the same ones all the time and I tended to write my own answer and then copy and paste it when the same question popped up again. I felt I was not enjoying the site as much as I did so let the top contributors badge lapse. Now I tend to answer all over the site and that way the badge will not pop up for another category. So just stay out of your top contributor badge and answer elsewhere in the site and eventually the badge will go away.
