Where is my account on the home page of yahoo?

I have a yahoo mail account but I'm sick and tired of all the c**p that is on the yahoo home page?

I have yahoo as my homepage but I can no longer tolerate all the useless celebrity and sports rubbish that is now clogging the page up. Can i have a mail account with yahoo without having to navigate through this wasteland of a homepage. I've set the sign in page as my home page but then it redirects me to the homepage when i sign in. It seems there is no escape. I'd like to keep my yahoo mail account but its getting annoying,m especially as its very easy to get sucked into these media stories, 10 minutes later you think what on earth have been wasting my time reading that for. Help is appreciated please.
Answer:

Change your home page to something else & just keep yahoo mail in your bookmarks/favourites. I have google (igoogle) as my home page & I just have it customised with what I want - Weather, a couple of gadgets etc... Much better than all the rubbish. You can't lose your yahoo mail just by changing your home page.
