How do I stop the yahoo alerts to my new cell phone?

I bought a cell phone a couple of months ago and apparantly the person who had the phone # before me was subscribed to yahoo alerts, and now I am paying for all of them , i try to write back asking to unsubscribe and to stop the text messaging but it doesn't happen. How can we stop this? i don't have money to be paying for alerts I haven't requested. Please advise

Go to alerts.yahoo.com and sign in with your yahoo id.. then click <My Alerts> link... All your alerts would be displayed.. click the <ON> button under the <status> section, it would turn red with <off> displayed on it...Alternatively, use <edit> or <delete> to modify or remove the alerts.. visit this link http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/alerts/alerts-05.html

I e-mailed and mine stopped - go visit the company your with and have them stop them - if they can't it's their fault not yours
