Yahoo Briefcase Has Shut Down One Day Early - Petition to Put it Back Online?

  • YAHOO HAS TAKEN DOWN BRIEFCASE ONE DAY EARLY. This is preventing many users from getting their files. Yahoo's page says we have through TUESDAY, March 30th. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/briefcase/closing/eol01.html 1) This isn't a day. Tuesday is the 31st, not the 30th. 2) It's already shut down and it's the 30th!! We were supposed to have through the 30th to get our files. EVERYONE PLEASE ADD A COMMENT IF YOU WANT YAHOO TO KEEP TO ITS WORD AND ALLOW US TO DOWNLOAD OUR DOCUMENTS THROUGH THE 30TH.

    You are right. Here's the important part: It DOES say "AFTER this date, you will be unable to access Yahoo! Briefcase or your files within the Yahoo! Briefcase account." It certainly isn't yet "after this date", and the site is already closed. There are a lot of people who, for whatever reason, planned to wait until the last day to remove files, so you are not alone. A number of people are confused by this. Maybe Yahoo! should reactivate it for the rest of the day, or maybe even an extra day. People can only hope that in the process of closing the site, that all files that were still there, aren't gone.

Yahoo, please give us another day. I was under the impression that we had the 30th to download our files. A lot of people will be thankful.

PLEASE JOIN THE GOOGLE GROUP http://groups.google.com/group/yahoo-briefcase-restoration-team Joe has put this question in and directed others to answer it as a petition but this is not a petition site and it is likely yahoo will, just as Wikipedia just did, not host this conflict. But even now the provided link has TUESDAY so something very odd is going on! According to wick though this is second only to them as a reference source. One 'editor' over there has brought down the entry though. So this is the only site with real capital behind it to be able to claim #1. SInce wick has failed us and this petition is doomed I am not setting out to find a better petition site. As I may not be able to answer this question again, although I shoudl be able to edit this answer, but am not the best at petitions, anyone would not be wasting there time to act on there own and setup a petition. Those who have been hit by this outrageous administering are very special and we all should care about them. I know not just because I am one of them, but because I understand those who blame us as well. I lost my photo's but there I missed the deadline even as extended- this time I was careful to budget the time, my cell phone has had an alarm to remind me EVERY DAY FOR WEEKS!- but I'm not online every day.... Note below, right, on this form, that they have theh alternate serach being wiki- is there commercial relationship or what? I guess I'm going to setup a google group. To be exact, it reads "We will close Yahoo! Briefcase on Tuesday, March 30, 2009". They did not specify a time. As long as they closed Briefcase any time after midnight this morning, they did keep to their word.

Yahoo should allow us access to Briefcase at least through today if not also through tomorrow since there is no such date as Tuesday, March 30, 2009. Plus they stated that AFTER (not ON) this date we would not be able to access our Briefcase files. I also suggest that today we flood Yahoo customer service (1-866-562-7219) with phone calls about our outrage over this Briefcase closure confusion in an effort to encourage them to allow us one or two days more access to our Briefcase files. We should all at least give it a try. Come on people. . . there is strength in numbers!

You should have downloaded the files sooner. I am just saying it know it's too late and you are probably mad. Possibly where Yahoo! operates from it is already March 31... Back when Yahoo! briefcase's 30 MB was lots of space, but since Yahoo! mail is now unlimited that's nothing. However it was good to have a place to share files. They should have made Yahoo! briefcase have more space an continue it. If it actually isn't the 31st where are then they are in the wrong. Either way I want Yahoo! briefcase to be back, but I still prepared for it's closing ASAP.
