How to turn off beta yahoo chat automatic sign on?

  • I haven't downloaded the full yahoo chat - have only been using the yahoo beta chat for now - but I can't find where to turn off the automatic chat sign in - as soon as I sign into yahoo to check my mail I'm getting messaged immediately and want to know how to turn off this automatic message sign on when I sign in to check my mail, thanks for any help

  • Answer:

    Click the drop down box and select Sign out of Chat. You can't completely remove the new chat feature from your Classic mai, but you can disable it so it doesn't sign you in when you go to your mail. When the page loads look for the IM contact list on the left, click where your status says Available then click Sign out of Chat. This will disable the feature. The box is still under the trash until you wish reactivate it.
