How do you find an Yahoo ID from a profile page?

Is there a way to search for a specific person from the Yahoo Personals Home Page ?

  • On the Yahoo personals home page,there is not a box to enter a name to find the profile by Yahoo ID. The member directory is abbreviated. In the messenger toolbar,there is a link to the member directory profile but not to the personals profile. Both should be available. It would really help to be able to search by Yahoo ID both at the home personals page and on the IM toolbar.

    The reason Yahoo! Personals did not have it set up to search by a user ID is because Personals is focused on meeting new people rather than looking up people you already know. That is what the Profiles are designed for. The Personals are also supposed to be private, and many users don't want just anybody who knows there user ID to be able to find out this personal information about them.
