I want to move my yahoo 360 blog to a new blog site. Which blog site is the best? It has to be a blog site that I can import the zip file from yahoo 360.

Answer:
UPDATED: What is "best" depends on your preferences and how you want to use your blog. I can layout your options and inform you of decent possibilities. 1) Automatic import from the zip file on works with blog services with a Movable Type format (http://www.movabletype.com/ ). Other than that... - The zip file export will work with Wordpress' (http://wordpress.com ) import tool. If the file is over 700MB, then you'll have to take some extra steps as described here: http://www.yprofileblog.com/blog/2009/06/25/fixes-and-features/#respond . Also, see http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2009/06/05/yahoo-app-and-360-importer/ . - If you want to move to Blogger (http://blogger.com ), Yahoo! recommended doing the workaround described here: http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/articles/blog-converter-blogspot.php . "...you can upload the zip file to WordPress and then export from WordPress and then upload to Blogger." 2) Otherwise, you will have to depend on import tools that blog services have created for Yahoo! 360 without the need for the zip file. For example... - Blogs from Yahoo! 360 can be automatically transferred to the Yahoo! Profile (http://profiles.yahoo.com ). Go to http://360.download.yahoo.com and use the left side of the top box by August 19, 2009. Note that any blogs marked as mature content on Y!360 at any point in time won't be transferred. Also, the blogs will exclude data like user comment names and exact posting dates. - Multiply (http://multiply.com ) - which many people purport to be very similar to Yahoo! 360 - has its own import feature. See http://multiply.multiply.com/journal/item/192 . Both of those sites are social-networking services that feature a blog, like Yahoo! 360. 3) Your last option is manual. You can always copy and paste the HTML versions of your blogs from the text file in the zip file into blog entries (in the HTML view as well). Then, re-upload images (directly into the site and/or linked to via a hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket) and re-post the entries that way. ______________________________________… Other blogging options, for which you'd likely have to figure out the best method from the above to use, in order to move blogs... Free blogging services: Livejournal (http://livejournal.com ), Vox (http://vox.com ), Typepad (http://typepad.com ), Travelpod (http://www.travelpod.com/ ), Tumblr (http://www.tumblr.com/ ) Free social-networking services with blogging capabilities: MySpace (http://myspace.com ), Facebook (http://facebook.com ), Xanga (http://xanga.com ), Windows Live Spaces (http://spaces.live.com/ ). Bebo (http://www.bebo.com/ ) and Gaia (http://www.gaiaonline.com/ ) are sites geared toward teenagers. You may want to check out http://blog-services-review.toptenreviews.com/ and http://social-networking-websites-review.toptenreviews.com/ , which provides a listing of top services and features (excluding Y!360 from the blog list).

The answer will vary from person to person, and I had tried Multiply.com years ago but kept my 360 blog until recently. I've migrated to (a) Yahoo! Profile AND (b) Live.com with satisfaction because they accept HTML very nicely, though Blogspot is also pretty good (using the Dashboard). I have NOT been eager to move to WordPress, though many techies (and LInkedIn) like it. Oh, and everyone PLEASE join my blogs and networks, OK?
