What is the difference between hits and page views?

Whats the difference between page views and visitors in yahoo 360?

  • and if the answers i have read from others is true how can you have say 8 page views and 0 visitors

  • Answer:

Page views is the total number of pages viewed by your visitors (If someone looks at 3 pages, each page is counted separately.. so, it's 3 page views). The Visitor count is the total number of people who have viewed/stopped by your page. So, the page view count tends to be higher than the visitor count. (I.E. One visitor might view 3 pages.) However, Y! 360 is still in beta form. Your problem seems to be a glitch. There's a feedback form, so you can make them aware of that glitch. http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/360/cgi_feedback

pages views this is done by week and month. if you want to find out the difference go to your page click on pages view you should be able to see how many come per week and how many per month. If you have 28 viewed that would be 7 per week. Keep those visitors low you are doing very well.

Page views simply means how many times your 360 has been looked at. Visitors refers to the number of different people who have looked. For example if 10 different people had all looked 5 times each then your Page Views would say 50 (10 people at 5 times each) and your Visitors count would be 10.
