How do I make my Q and As private?

How do you make your Q and A private?

  • I noticed that some users have their questions and answers marked as private. How do you change your setting to private? Thanks!

  • Answer:

Click on your avatar/name on the far left (or right) corner of most Yahoo Answers pages OR click on the "My Profile" link on the far, upper right area of the page. This takes you to your Y/A profile page. Click "Edit My Info" in the upper left box. Scroll down to the privacy section and check the options: - On my public profile, hide my Q&A from people who are not my contacts - On my public profile, only show my Answers Network to my Contacts Click the "Preview" button and then the "OK" button. NOTE: Privacy only applies to your Y/A profile. Your Q&A can still be seen on the rest of the site (i.e. in the categories that you post and via search engines). Of course, if you have people in your Answers network (fans and contacts), they can see your Q&A in your Y/A profile. If want to prevent even that from happening, make sure the "Allow other Answers users to be my fan" option is not selected and don't add anyone as a Contact.
