Why cant my xbox 360 profile cant be used in xbox live? How do i do this?

ok.. so i had an xbox 360 profile that i had all my achievements in .. then i made another profile in xbox live . ok so now i have those two .. why cant i use my original xbox 360 profile to xbox live ? how can i do this?i want my achievements that i made to xbox live.... plz help

Answer:
The profile you have the achievements on is the one you need to have X-box Live. You can also change your name after you get that X-box live account for only 800 Microsoft points if you don't like the name.
