How do i fix my xbox 360?

Why do I always get a corrupt xbox profile when I put my hdd in another 360? How do I fix this.?

• I just bought a new xbox 360 to connect to the internet to go along with the one that was used for playing offline. One is a 20gb model and the other is an arcade version. I have removed the hard drive from the 20gb model and placed it in the new arcade version with hdmi. This now shows that my profile is corrupted and if i recover the gamertag, i will lose all of my achievements as only the newest xbox (hdmi on) is online. I have cleared the cache and have moved the hard drive info to a memory unit and even this shows a corrupted profile when entered into the new unit. When they are plugged into the 20gb original model the profiles work fine. I do not want a transfer of Id or whatever as I want to be able to swap hard drives whenever. The funny thing is, is that I have a fiend sign in on my hard drive on the 20gb model and his still works on the new hdmi xbox, but mine does not. Can anyone help with this/. I have called MS and they do not seem to understand what I want and they just want me to transfer everything to the newest xbox, which defeats the purpose of a memory unit or portable hard drive right?

  Is your old xbox modded by any chance? cuz i just recently went out and bought an elite because my old 360 got banned from xbl for being modded. I think this is some type of counter measure done by microsoft in one of the updates so we cant play our old xbox with the modded games and bring our profile back to update gamerscore, which is what ive tried to do....i played nfs shift and brutal legend got a ton of achievements brought my profile back on my new xbox and is now corrupted so i had to recover. Its kinda stupid because theres no fail-safe for ppl who dont have xbl to recover. on a side not make sure not to bring any of your game saves back on that old console, if you do they will also be corrupted and will be lost forever...unless you have a datel save transfer kit to copy saves to the pc and resign them with your newly recovered gamertag because they will forever be linked to your old gamertag and say unknown profile dont really know how to fix this but thats all i know bout it hope it helps.
