How do I put pictures directly into a blog on myspace from Photobucket?

Who wants to give me step by step instructions on how to put pictures on my Y/A blog?

  • Myspace, Flickr, Blogspot, Facebook (all of these sites & probably many more that I'm not aware of) make it incredibly easy to post pictures. You just click on a little "BROWSE" button & find in your hardrive any picture that you wish to put out on these sites. Why did Yahoo 360 make it so difficult, & why is this "replacement" blog site following in Yahoo 360's footsteps? I guess I'm asking why these sites can't set up the "easy way" to upload photos the way that so many other sites do? (Last time when I had a Yahoo 360 blog site my now ex boyfriend put my photos out there for me.) I might not be able to understand the step by step instructions that one of you might be willing to & kind enough to provide for me (but maybe I will surprise myself)? ***On a smaller note: Why do my "status updates" tell me that I have plenty of space left to type & then when my entry posts some of my words are cut off? (In other words it says, "You have 19 characters remaining" so I type a bit more, & then I'm shocked to see that my last words are cut off when my entry posts.) This is the most ridiculous thing that could happen, & it keeps happening!

The "why" of your question is best answered by Yahoo! Profiles staff, if they are willing to answer it at all. Send in a Help form at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/profiles/general.html . As for the cut off of status updates, that's a correct observation and I'm pretty sure that it occurs with everyone. It's likely a bug/glitch of the service. Again, you can send a Help form to the staff about it. Also, you can simply not trust the count on that and decrease whatever you have to say by about 10 characters. NOTE: Your Help Form submission is not guaranteed a response by Y!Profiles staff. POSTING IMAGES TO THE YAHOO! PROFILES BLOG: Unlike the Yahoo! 360 service (and the other services you've mentioned) there isn't a direct image upload function in the Yahoo! Profiles for the blog feature. If you want to add an image from your computer to the Y!Profile's blog area, you would need to upload it to an account on a site like Flickr (http://flickr.com ) or Photobucket (http://photobucket.com ). Then, link to the image from within the blog entry. See http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/profiles/blog/profblog-12.html and http://www.yprofileblog.com/blog/2009/06/08/how-to-blog-on-your-new-profile/ for some instructions. For example, here are instructions related to Flickr: - Log into Flickr - Click on the photo that you want to use from your photostream - Click the "All Sizes" button at the top. - The link to the image is at the bottom of the page. Copy the entire URL (Option #2). - Compose a blog entry in the Y!Profile by clicking the "Compose Entry" button in the blog module or blog area. - Click the "Insert Image" button on the toolbar. - Paste the URL in the "Image URL" field. Based on Flickr's guidelines, you may have to paste the URL of the photo's page (see the URL in between the <a href></a> tags in the Option #1 box) in the Link URL box as well. - Click the "Done" button in the pop-up window. - Click the "Post Entry" button. The image has to be hosted online first, then you can link to it by providing the URL of the image that the photo-hosting site gives you. Another option is to go to graphic sites like Glitter Graphics (http://www.glitter-graphics.com/ ) and copy the embed code. Then, click the "Edit HTML Code" button in the blog entry's toolbar, paste the code, and click the "Post Entry" button.
