How can I setup a blog?

My pages goes to Blog setup or Login screen ?

  • My friends tell me that when they navigate within my blog, like clicking on next/prev for entries, it often goes to the blog setup or the log in screen. Do I need to do some thing to avoid it?

  • Answer:

    - Make sure that your blog settings page is saved with everything filled in properly. You should only have to do this once. - You should keep clearing your browser's cookies and cache. You should do this anyway as part of regular computer maintenance. Ask your friend to do the same. CACHE: In Internet Explorer, see http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/howto/customizing/clearcache.mspx In Firefox, click the "Clear Cache Now" button under Tools > Options > Privacy > Cache. In Safari, under the Safari menu is an option to Empty Cache; select this. COOKIES: In Firefox, do this under Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies > Clear Cookies Now In Internet Explorer, do this under Tools > Internet Options > General > Browsing History > Delete > Delete Cookies > Yes In Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu and click Security. Click Show Cookies, then click the option to Remove cookies. Then, restart your computer. - For me, clicking the "Back" button (usually more than one time, as the settings page keeps popping up) helps alleviate the problem. But this is a recurring issue, that will happen more than once for most people. - You can provide the direct link to your latest blog in your Profile Information module on the Top Page. Right-click the "Permanent Link" link for the blog entry and choose "Copy Location or Copy Shortcut". Click the "Edit Profile Information" link on your Top Page and paste the link in the Home Page section (with http://). - After posting an entry, go back and click the "Edit" link for the entry. Make a slight change in the text and re-save it. It wouldn't hurt to check that everything on your computer is updated and functioning properly. While much of the problem is with Yahoo, an improperly functioning system can make issues much worse. Ask your friends to do the same: 1) Make sure that your computer system is updated via Microsoft/Windows Update (if you have a windows system). You may have to update more than once. 2) Internet Explorer should be updated to version 8, if it isn't already. Firefox should be updated to version 3. 3) Make sure that you have the latest Adobe Flash player plug-in installed for your browser. See http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash . 4) If you don't save your entry elsewhere (like in Notepad or Word) BEFORE posting, then you risk losing what you wrote completely. So, make it habit to save all entries in an external program before trying to post them in Yahoo! 360. It's best to use rudimentary word processing programs like Notepad or Word Pad. Other than what's mentioned above, you are likely out of luck. You can create a new Yahoo account and set up the 360 page for it, but you may incur the same problem again. NOTE: The Y!360 team is no longer addressing bug reports, as it prepares to launch an universal profile system (UPS) in the 2nd half of 2008. This transition was announced in October 2007 and the UPS actually started in a rudimentary beta form on October 16, 2008. The Y!360 part of the system hasn't been transferred over fully yet. - See blogs at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 for more details. The 360 team blog is also accessible via the "Yahoo! 360 News" link in the upper right corner of your 360 space. You can post complaints on their blog, but don't expect a personal response. - See http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-4D4zxsg6fLRvC60pERfR7.8c?p=858 for more information on 360 glitches. - See the links in these blog entries for more details on Yahoo's overall direction and UPS: http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-4D4zxsg6fLRvC60pERfR7.8c?p=1168 and http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-4D4zxsg6fLRvC60pERfR7.8c?p=1236 .
