Xbox 360: The 3 Red Ring of Death?
-
I just got my xbox 360 about 4 months ago and it already has that red light problem. What can I do to fix it? I already know the "towel fix" won't work because of my friends, but what can I do without opening up? I'm afraid of damaging my console. I do have a warranty on it but what I really wanted to ask was will doing nothing to the xbox for a while to let it cool down and eventually work again?

Answer:
it gets hot and the metal expands inside which then loosens the connection and you get the red lights, when it cools down the metal contracts and the connection is good again.....until it gets hot and expands again, that is why the towel fix is temporary, you don't really need a towel, you just need to keep it cool, put in on a air conditioning vent would be a better idea but you got warranty, so use it
