Whats wrong with my internet for my xbox 360?

so i cant connect to the internet to play xbox live. i select the " Test Connection " option. i run the xbox live test. i got full bars. a strong connection! but still not able to connect to internet! whats going on! also when im on xbox live and my house phone rings...i lose connection. when this happens i usually have my connection restored in like ten minutes....i haven't had connection for TWO DAYS! HELP PLEASE!

Make sure your xbox 360 is directly connected to the modem If you have dial-up internet then that would be why you lose connection
