Can I exchange my X Box 360 at Best Buy if its not broken?

  • I have a replacement plan at Best Buy for my X Box 360 and now that the newly designed X Box 360 was just released I want to exchange my old 360 for the new one (they both cost the same price) Is it possible for this type of exchange or must there be a malfunction with my current X Box 360?

    Actually, it was people doing this repeatedly that caused Microsoft to change the regulations around the replacement plans for Best Buy. If it's fully functioning, you can only exchange it within 30 days. If something goes wrong with it within the 2 years of the replacement plans, it will be taken care of as a rapid exchange, and you will receive a refurbished unit within like 5-8 business days of it being sent off. The kind you get back will be the same type as what you send off.

Best Buy will not technically give you a new Xbox. Even if yours was to break, it would likely be replaced with the same type seeing as they are still available to purchase.
