How do I fix my XBOX 360 3 red light problem?

Xbox 360 E74 error, did it bite the dust?

• Hey so the other day I went to start my xbox 360 and I got an E74 error and a red light in the 4th controller light. Then today I turned it on again and it actually worked. So i turned it off then back on again and the red light and error msg came back. If I unplug the AV I don't get any red lights and it acts normal. Could this just be a crapped out AV cable? Its one of the after market cables. It has the three way split for xbox 360, ps3, and wii.Ive had it for about a year and a half. Im going to pick up a new av cable today just to see if it will fix the problem.

  Well check that it's the AV cable. But if it doesn't work still, then you'll have to send it off to microsoft. I THINK that it's free when it comes to the E74 error.
