-
So today i turned on my xbox to find that it won't turn on. I was playing it yesterday working fine. Now my xbox has been having problems for a while; had it for about a year now. It was overheating and you couldn't play it. Now it just won't turn on. Has anyone had this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? i think its gone but i just wanted to see if anyone knew about this. And no its not the red ring of death it just wont turn on.

Answer:
You should have called microsoft once you found out that it was overheating. Now all I can say is you call them and see what they will say. If they ask you to send it then that's good but if they don't then just try to fix it yourself or at any local store. But before you call microsoft, make sure that the warranty seal is still glued on the xbox 360. This warranty seal will be found right under the faceplate of the xbox 360. If you can't get the faceplate off (because it is cumbersome to take it off) just check any youtube video on how to take off the xbox 360 faceplate. If you still can't get it off try pushing the usb slots door on the faceplate using your thumbs and inserting your in there (each thumb on one end) then pull hard but not too hard then the bottom of the faceplate should come off. After doing that, carefully full each pin that attaches the faceplate to the body (from bottom to top) and then it should come off. After checking the seal just put the faceplate back on buy attaching the top two pins to the body (push on the top of the faceplate where the pins are), then put the 2 pins in the middle and finally the 2 pins on the bottom.

I had the same problem last year but my 360 showed the red ring of death and it shut off by itself while i was playing a game. It was working fine, sometimes overheated so I turned it off for a while. After i saw the RROD i went to turn it on and it showed thr ring again and i turned it off. i pulled the power wire out of the socket and into a different one and it just didnt turn on. My friend and his dad are good with electronics so I took my busted xbox to them and we slowly took it apart to see what was wrong with it. His dad looked at everything in there and said that the problem was with the processor. It was ruined from overheating. So basically, i needed to buy a new xbox since this was unfixable and i couldnt send it to microsoft since we took it apart. So you basically have to buy a new xbox. I heard te new slim ones are great with the biggest hard drive (250 GB) and they cost like $299 and come with wi fi for xbox live, a controller, and a headset for live. and everything else needed in that package.
