On Yahoo, how can you add people as a friend?

I can NOT add any friends - Error: At this time you cannot invite the person as a friend.?

  • I have NOT exceeeded any of the maximums, but I can NOT add any friends: (1.) This happens whenever I try to invite anybody. It is NOT limited to just certain people who might have their Yahoo 360 profile set to not allow Friend Invitations. I can NOT invite anybody at all. (2.) I only have 171 Friends at this time, so I have NOT exceeded the maximum number of Friends. I believe that the maximum is 250 or 300, right? (3.) My mailbox is NOT full. In fact, my InBox is completely empty. My Sent box only has 19 Invitations Outstanding. I believe that you can have as many as 100 Friend Invitations Outstanding, right? So, my mailbox is NOT the problem. (4.) My Favorites list has not exceeded the maximum, either. I have 165 People on my Favorites list. I believe the maximum number of Favorites is 250, right? When I try to add a new friend, I get the following error message: Error: At this time you cannot invite the person as a friend. This message is NOT very helpful!!! Why?

    Ok, this is what I think has happened. I believe with your friends and favorites combined it has exceeded the maximum limit. That is the only thing I can think of. Try removing several of your favorites and then try to invite someone as a friend again. If it doesn't work, I would definitely contact Yahoo about it. Hope this helps.

You may have done this already but I strongly suggest you send this problem directly to Yahoo through the Beta Feedback link. You are not the only person who is having this problem and it seems to be a Yahoo glitch.

There is no real maximum of friends, as far as I can tell. I've seen a girl whose connections approach 300 in less than a year. One of my friends has this problem, and it can be just frustrating.

Check with the user members... He/She might had set the setting for invitation to only friends of friends... In this case none of your friends is on his/her friend list... U can't inviite him/her...

This happens from time to time. Send the team feedback about it so they can fix it in their next round of updates. I don't know how you are trying to add people. If you are trying to invite from your page, go directly to the page that you want to add and click the add button. Sometimes this works when nothing else will.
