Answer:
When you upload the image to Y!360's personal profile pic module or when it's displayed in Y/A, it's going to be a thumbnail of the original size. These services automatically re-size (or reduce it). So, the best you can do is re-size your image and re-upload it, but the end result is still going to be relatively small compared to the original size. Microsoft Paint is on most Windows computers with Microsoft software in the Accessories programs section. - Open Paint, then open the image file from within Paint. - Click on the Image Menu and choose "Attributes." - Increase the pixel width and length OR use "stretch and skew" to increase the dimension (length and width) percentage. Try to increase by the same amount for each dimension. - Go to the File menu and Save As. Make sure to save the image as a different file name. Then, re-upload the image to the personal profile pic module in your 360 space (http://360.yahoo.com ). Click the "use as primary" option next to the image, if you have more than one image in that module, before saving. You'll have to wait for the Y/A system to register the change. This is likely a trial and error process though. Try making the image maybe 3 times its current size and see what happens. Aim for a mid-sized image at first (200-400 pixels per dimension). Many people opt to increase the vertical dimension greatly. However, the original quality (i.e. resolution) of the image does matter when resizing. Another option is to use services or features that do resizing more automatically: - Set up a free account on Photobucket (http://photobucket.com ) and use their re-sizing options. See http://tutorials.photobucket.com/tutorial_130.html . - Use online services that don't require an account like http://www.lunapic.com/editor/ , http://webresizer.com/ , and http://www.resize2mail.com/ - If you have a Windows XP operating system and have installed the image resizer powertoy, then you can re-size easily on your computer system. See http://www.wikihow.com/Easily-Resize-Photos-in-Windows-XP .

Well if you are talking about the full-sized body avatar in the menu that you can see standing, then no. Even the snapshot picture that you can take of the avatar is just the standard size that xbox allows. If you are talking about using it anywhere other than on/in/around the 360 I doubt you can do much with it. good luck

If you are speaking of an elongated image like mine (smaller or bigger) then Kee has told you about how to locate the re-size menu and use the"stretch/skew" option. Setting the horizontal/vertical to 200x400 produces good results on many images but you may want to experiment a little by changing the dimensions.
