What is a Yahoo 360 picture?
-
I would like a picture by my info when I answer questions. I saw this as an option when editing my profile. What is it and how do I get a picture on my profile?

Answer:
If you want to use one of the cartoon 'avatars' then It's a two step process 1) Create your avatar Go to your Answers profile page http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit... In the 'Picture' section, click on "Edit My Avatar" That takes you to the Avatars site where you can create your avatar 2) Display your avatar on Answers Back on your Answers profile page, http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit... In the Picture section, select "Use My Yahoo Avatar" ================= If you want to use some other pic or a photo, then this requires a 360 account and this is a 3 step process. 1) You'll need to create your Yahoo! 360 account. http://360.yahoo.com NOTE: Currently, you have to be 18 or older to get a 360 account. So far, this is the only option if you want to use some other picture or photo. The only three options for pics you have on your Answers profile is no pic, Yahoo avatar, or 360 picture. 2) You'll need to upload one or more pictures to your 360 page. On your 360 page, select "My Page" from the top Select "Edit Personal Photos" on the left hand side Browse to your saved photo(s) (assuming you have one or more ready) to upload it. This link will take you there http://upload.360.yahoo.com/edit/photos.... Select the "Set as Primary" button next to the photo want displayed on other sites (like Answers) and select "Save" 3) You'll need to display your 360 picture on Answers Go to your "My Q&A" page, select "Edit My Info" In the "Picture" section, select "Use my Yahoo! 360 Picture" This link will get you to that page, http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit... It has been reported by other users that it can take a couple of days before the option to use your 360 pic appears on your Answers profile. If you found this helpful, a best answer vote, which can be given after 4 hours from the time the question was posed, would be appreciated (most newbies don't seem to know about that!)

I believe it's one of those things where you can select your own pictures (like of you or your favorite hobby, ect) where you make that your personalized picture/ icon.

Yahoo! 360 is a social networking service (like MySpace) that connects many Yahoo services together into one place. See http://docs.yahoo.com/docs/pr/release1222.html . More people are using 360 now to find and meet new people. You can have an avatar (cartoon character) or a photo/image: IMAGE (i.e. the Yahoo 360 picture): First, create a 360 space at http://360.yahoo.com . While logged into a yahoo service (mail, answers, whatever), type 360.yahoo.com in your web browser's address field (or just type 360 in a Yahoo! toolbar). Start creating your 360 space from there. Click the BIG YELLOW "Get Started" BUTTON on the far right section of that page! If necessary, sign in by clicking on the teeny tiny "Sign-in" button on the upper left of the page. Then, the page refreshes and click on the teeny tiny "Yahoo 360 Home" link on the upper right of the page to get into the 360 space. Make sure a JPEG formatted photo (with .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe extension) under 5MB is saved to your hard drive. - Click your "My Page" link at the top - Click "Edit Profile Photos" over the empty picture frame - Click "Browse" and upload photo into an empty field. Then click one "use as primary" radio button on the right before saving. You can't upload more than 4 profile pictures (this includes an avatar). Then, come back to Yahoo! Answers. Click the "My Profile" link to the upper right of this Yahoo! Answers page, then click "Edit My Info" in the top left box on the Answers profile page. Scroll down to the image section and check the option of showing the 360 picture. Click Preview and then the OK button. See more U.S. instructions at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/profile/profile-03.html AVATAR: Go to http://avatars.yahoo.com and sign in (if you're not already). You can make an avatar image there. If you need help with making the avatar, follow instructions at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/avatars/. Your avatar is currently a grayed out man/woman because it's the default image. Make sure that you click the orange "Save Changes" button below your Avatar preview window before leaving the site! Then, click "My Profile" to the upper right of most Yahoo! Answers pages, then click "Edit My Info" in the top left box on the Answers profile page. Choose your avatar in the pic section. Click Preview and then the OK button.
