How do I set my Q&A to private?

How do I set my Yahoo Pulse to private and keep my avatar?

  • I want to set my Yahoo Pulse to private so when unwanted/blocked people click on it they can't see my Q&A's listed. Last time I tried this, I set it to private, but lost my avatar (it reverted back to the yahoo exclamation mark). I googled the problem and found out that if you have your pulse set on private you can't have a customized avatar. HERE'S THE CATCH Some people I know DO have their Q&A's on private (or not available) YET have an avatar of their choice. Are they doing something different? Can anyone enlighten me on this situation? Much appreciated

  • Answer:

In order to display a photo avatar you must not block pulse. You can control who sees what fields in pulse with settings. If you look at mine it displays nothing personal. To hide q&a from non Y!A pages including email and pulse change your setting here. http://pulse.yahoo.com/y/settings/updates If "share my updates" is unchecked nothing is shared and you do not have to set anything further down the page. The option to hide the list is in your Y!A profile at "my activity" and then "edit my preferences". Shortcut http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit Then click on "privacy and communications". You can allow the list to be seen by "everyone", "my contacts and fans only", or "my contacts only". You must have no contacts to hide from everyone. ₪ ʎəɿʞɹɐq ₪
