I personally use Lafango for blogging. I like that it also gives you a good place to upload all of your other media to a virtual "stage." http://lafango.com/blog

I really like Tumblr. It's free, but doesn't put ads on your blog like other websites. It has lots of great layouts too, and is very easy to use.
