Was your Yahoo "Pulse" info always wide open?

Who are these people who send me invites on Yahoo! Pulse (more info)?

I don't know them and they want to connect with me! Are they hackers? One of them keeps posting/updating the same thing "Lisa Sherman". WHO R THEY? Has anyone else experienced this?

I haven't experienced that, but if you don't trust them, refuse their requests and block them.
