How do i add background art to my yahoo homepage? How do I connect with Flicker? Like the 360 had?
-
I finally decided I have to look at this new page from yahoo because 360 is leaving....It is such an ugly white page. I am not computer savey...I need help! I feel so ripped off that 360 is closing and I have to settle for a page that seems to be so downgraded. Or am I just not locating the settings where I can add interest to my page. Like tiling artwork? where is the feature? I bet I can't link my flicker here either? or can I? Note--today I was able to move my blog cool!

Answer:
They are similar services, but not exactly same. The Yahoo! Profile is not the "new 360". It's an upgraded version of the Yahoo! Members Profile and you can move some 360 content there by Sunday, July 12, 2009. See http://ycorpblog.com/2008/10/16/your-social-control-panel and http://developer.yahoo.net/blog/archives/2008/04/introducing_the_1.html for more information about the Yahoo! Profile. The Y!Profile is an integral part of Yahoo's new "Open Strategy". They are expanding social-networking possibilities across many Yahoo services, with the Y!Profile being a centralized hub. The Y!Profile will not necessarily have all the features that were available via Yahoo! 360. Some features are not included; some may be expanded; and some are totally different. Generally, where there used to be links to the Yahoo! 360 profile throughout Yahoo, there will be links to the Yahoo! Profile instead. You can find out the list of features available by reading the Yahoo! Profile Help pages: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/profiles/ . This is an ongoing project so what is or isn't available now may not be part of the final result. You can post feedback regarding features on the Yahoo! Profile blog at http://www.yprofileblog.com/ . Information from your 360 Lists, Settings, Friends, and Blog area can be transferred over to the Yahoo! Profile. In terms of the Friends and Blog, you will have to do some manual work. See the Yahoo! 360 help pages for detailed information on the transition: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/shutdown/ . You can't change the background on the Yahoo! Profile site or add background images to blogs. Blog entry customization is limited, even when using HTML code. Comments from 360 are showing from blogs, but they don't include the users' 360 names (likely a glitch). Videos are showing up, unless they were embedded with code that's no longer usable or if the videos had been pulled from the hosting site. There is an area for a status message (like the 360 blast). There are areas for comments (i.e. the Guestbook and Blog). You can add updates from Yahoo! services and some external sites that you use. See instructions here on how to show updates from your Flickr photostream: http://www.yprofileblog.com/blog/2009/03/05/profiles-updates-member-since-and-flickr-integration . Otherwise, you can add upload individual pictures to the Profile Card (to be displayed one at a time) or to your blog entries.
