  It depends on what you want to mod it for. If you know what you're doing, you can always purchase a mod chip on the internet, and install it yourself. Or you can mail it in to someone you know who can do it for you. If you do it yourself, it's pretty straight forward. You open your Xbox, and there's a hard-to-miss slot where you insert the chip. The only downside is you void your warranty when modding, so if anything happens to your 360, Microsoft won't touch it, and repairs will be paid through your own pocket.
