How can I make a group in Yahoo 360?

Re: Yahoo 360. How can a person get help from Yahoo if regular help doesn't help?

  • I have a 360 page, and I have set up another 360 page that can be used by my family as we try to plan a family vacation. We all have been invited, and we also have a group sign in and password. When I responded to the "connect to..." it opened up a 360 page in the name I used for the family page. Now when i try to use the family page, it flips me over to the new page that it made for me using my family page sign in. I used a different form of my name and a non-yahoo email address. It seems like I should have simply been able to respond to the invitation and proceed as normal. I don't want the new 360, and I want to be able to access the page as others would so I can help them navigate the site. I have set up a calendar and address book and I can't get to them. Anyway I can get around this? Also is there a way to get past the way some of the sections have been designed? We want to use the spaces differently - and who cares where someone used to work? Doesn't make sense?

  • Answer:

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do. Yahoo! 360 is for personal profiles, not for groups. Y! 360 also does not come with a calendar or address book that I know of. If you're seeing an owner's version of a 360 page, there is a drop-down menu at the top of the page to "Preview as seen by:" or you can type in the URL for the 360 page. (You can find the Simple URL option in your Settings.) However, if you're trying to create a group, I'd recommend using Yahoo! Groups for it at http://groups.yahoo.com/ That way everyone can use their own ID without creating a new one. Groups have a mailing list, address book and calendar. Plus, if you go to the members section of the group, that will provide you with a quick link to the 360 pages of the individual members, as well as other features. The group will be displayed on each member's 360 page, and the RSS feed of the mailing list can be displayed there as well. As far as the different information you can put on your Yahoo! 360 page, if you leave them blank they will not show up on the page. (EDIT) If you are the moderator of this group and don't want messages to be sent out, you will have to set this for each individual member. Go to the Members link on the left side of the screen. There will be a drop-down list to set to "No Email" next to each members name. Be sure to Save Changes, and no messages will be sent out any longer.
