  Both services have a social-networking focus, which you can choose to participate in or not. The Yahoo! 360 beta service is closing on July 13, 2009. The Yahoo! Profile is an upgrade of the old Yahoo! Members profile and is an ongoing project. In the past, Yahoo focused its social-networking goals primarily into one service - Yahoo! 360. Yahoo! 360 has been stagnant since October 2007 (at minimum) - glitches abound in initially working features, technical support was halted, and there were no new features added to keep up with technological advances. Now, Yahoo is expanding social-networking outward amongst many of its services (http://everything.yahoo.com ), with the Yahoo! Profile being a centralized hub. The Yahoo! Profile automatically is attached to every Yahoo account (as it was before) with activation options. Where there were links to Yahoo! 360 across Yahoo! services, there will be links to the Yahoo! Profile instead. Updates about member activities can be broadcast throughout services (like Yahoo! Mail) and the Y!Profile. There is a blog feature and there are applications (http://apps.yahoo.com ). The Yahoo!
