How to post video on my Yahoo 360?

How do u post a YouTube video in yahoo 360?

  • So far I can only post the link or a garble of html script, how do I post the actual video instead? Step by step idiot proof instructions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Answer:

go to the youtube site and copy the "embedded code" paste that into your blog--but FIRST put the blog editor into html mode or it will not work. I have found that if I put <p> at the front of the code and </p> and the end it sometimes works better.

To just post the link: If they have a url associated with them, you can simply copy/paste the url into a blog. So, if you have a url, copy the whole thing. Next, go to your 360 and click 'compose blog entry'. Your first have to check the "View html" or "View source" (whatever it is) button, THEN paste the code and hit preview when done... It won't work if you just paste it into the regular blog text box, you must check the html box I mentioned above. I always enter my text first, then check the box and paste code....otherwise, it's harder to enter text with the coding that appears after you check the html source box. If you want to edit the code/add more, check the html source box and it will take you to the coded stuff.... With that being said, if you want to actually add the video, not just a link, youtube.com and other sites such as that, give you an "embed" link that you can copy and paste into a blog entry like I described above. Hopefully this helps!

On the right side of the videos on YouTube, you'll see "Embed".. copy the HTML tag that starts with "<object width">. When you go to edit or compose a blog entry: 1. Check the box near "View HTML source" (on the right of your blog entry page/near the emoticons/fonts/font colors, etc) 2. Paste the HTML tag from YouTube into the text area 3. Add text and preview. If the code is right, the video will show up in Preview. If Yahoo! 360 is anything like Myspace and accepts HTML code then you just copy the "embed link" (<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xwh-iPoe… name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xwh-iPoegy… type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>) for example. This is listed on the Video page, right underneath the Video Details (to the right of the video itself). Some videos may not be available for sharing. BUT, cut out the "<object width...>" and "</embed></object>" at the end so it looks like: <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xwh-iPoe… name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xwh-iPoegy… type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"> Er, that should be all you need to do, if it still doesn't work, 360 might just not accept coding like that.
