Why is my new Xbox 360 freezing?

Why does my xbox 360 keep freezing?

  • my xbox freezes like every half hour. i have the older 20gb pro bundle xbox. it is close to the floor on a TV stand with a surround sound box then my TV on top but they are on different shelves of the TV stand. also the xbox is about 6 feet from a fireplace. would this cause the xbox to freeze and how should i move it if it does

    It's possible that all of these have caused your problem. But if it's already freezing this often, trust me, it's too late. It will probably fatally crash within the next month.

if it freezes you need to ring up xbox and send it away to get repaired, hopefully you still have a warranty, i sent mine away and it cost me £60 and you also get a free year warranty moving it wont make a diff hope that helps

Okay you xbox needs to have its own space. Try to have it in a place where nothing is around it and it is off the ground. Keep it in the Horizontal posistion NEVER VERTICAL. Make sure all of the cords are plugged in completely. Go buy a dvd lens cleaner (they help a lot). Go buy an extra fan for it to help cool it off (xbox 360 accessory). Clean your discs with a damp cloth. After all this it doesnt work call microsoft and see if they can help.

maybe it over heating move away from fire place and maybe thing about running a fan on it wehn playing or mabey its junk and u need a new one a lot of the games systems go out so easy no dose that it anint funny expescally mini ps2 i think they just dont make them like they used to but thats just me maybe u could try cleaning ur xbox360 out with air duster if u do this try to get eveywhere in sides and outs and under neathi and on top sometimes dust bluid up can cause a game to freez

what you do is send it back to nintendo if it keeps freezing and they will either fix it or give you a whole new one try moving it first before sending it in to nintendo (if you do send it in to nintendo it might take a couple months)

Get a laptop cooler, and put under it. Make sure that it has plenty of air, and that it can get cool air. Look at the vents, and if they are dusty, blot them out (really good, several times) with a can of compressed air (available at office supply places).
