What's the real story behind Thanksgiving?

Whats the story behind your yahoo answers nickname?

  • My yahoo answers nicknames is obviously "Nine" and the story behind it was 1.) I made my yahoo email when i was 9 (ehmm for chatting my foreign family but im 13 now anyways) and 2.) I was reading this book "Lorien Legacies" and this character called "Number Nine" amazed me so yeah. The best story gets 10 points!

  • Answer:

Mine is quite old already, 5 or 6 years, methinks. I was listening to the song Sanctus Ignis by Adagio, and I thought I wanted a nickname in Latin. Ignis (flame, kindling) sounded cool to me. But being the 'cool guy', I couldn't use 'Sanctus' (sacred, holy), but quite the opposite, 'Diabolus' (devil). Here I am, DiabolusIgnis. I think it translates to Devil's fire or firedevil or somesuch.

oklatonola means Oklahoma to New Orleans LA It's a user name I came up with AFTER Katrina several months after I signed up with nola.com so I could read Times_Picayune articles online and could participate on the nola.com neighborhood forums. I was born and grew up mostly in New Orleans, but my Mom's hometown is in the Oklahoma panhandle. My entire life has been split between greater New Orleans and at least one Oklahoma location. Since the beginning of 1981, when I moved to Norman, OK to attend graduate school, I have chosen to live mostly in central OK most of the time Now more than half my life has been spent in Oklahoma, not counting the other locations outside of Oklahoma and New Orleans that I may have resided in temporarily for more than a week. I'm slowly mentally preparing myself for splitting my ties with New Orleans. Once I sell my house and either sell or move the what is in the New Orleans house, I probably will not be able to afford to visit there for long, but maybe I will be able to. Once my soul sister and her husband decide to sell their house and re-locate some-where else to be closer to either or both of their sons, well. since my family is now her family, New Orleans before Katrina will just be common memory that we all share. New Orleans was profoundly altered by Katrina in many ways, especially politically. The Old Guys southern Democrat network is now pretty much a thing of the past, although some parts of the network still remain, but no longer can control (rig) election outcomes like they used to seem to be able to do. Many former Southern Democrats are too young to care about the Civil War/War Between the States and Reconstruction I and why there was NO viable Republican party in ALL of Louisiana until the 1980's. They are now red-neck Republicans, and many of them are Tea Partiers. I'm more an Okie psychologically anyway.
