How do you make the questions and answers private on your yahoo answers profile?

WHY did my answers and questions all of a sudden started getting shared in my updates on yahoo answers?

• I MEAN WTF?!? I had that s-hit turned off FOREVER, and today I look and see that its been turned on for the past month and all of them have been getting shared without my knowledge. and how do you make it so that no one can see the questions or answers youve asked or answered when in yahoo answers profile? Im really p-issed cause, I had no protection of privacy. your not safe for S-HIT on the internet. God im so pissed....

  They started doing that a couple of weeks ago for all users, but fortunately you can disable it! Here's how to do it: click on edit my preferences in your YA profile, scroll down to Y!Updates, make sure that <Don't share my updates> is displayed in the box, click <preview> at the bottom and then okay. And while you are there, scroll down to "privacy", under "Yahoo! Answers Network" mark both "on my public profile, hide my Q&A from people not in my Answers Network" and "on my public profile, hide my Answers Network from people who are not in it". Note: if you mark "allow other Answers users to be my fan", you may get fans and they will then be able to read all your Q&A. So either don't allow this or check regularly, who has added you as their contact.
