A Troll is somebody that uses different names every-time they write a reply or ask a question on sites like RSA-Overseas. They use foul language and sometimes poses as other peoples names etc.

When used on Yahoo, a troll is somebody that asks specific questions or gives specific answers just to incite other users and to start an argument. They usually frequent heated categories like Gender & Women Studies, Religion & Spirituality, or News & Events. An example of a troll in the G&WS category would be someone asking a question like: Why are all women stupid? so that people should get heated up and reply in angry ways.

Some one who posts on message boards, chatrooms and the like to cause havoc, wind people up and generally make a nuisance of themselves. They will post whatever they think will wind up other users of the service, whether insulting, offensive and so on. The best response is to ignore them.

Well a Troll is a type of Ogre in fairy tales, featured in Lord of The Rings, but I don't know whether people use that as a way of expressing themselves on this site, it's more than likely some sort of insult.

I am glad you asked this question! I have seen this used quite a bit lately and I have wondered the same thing myself. Just taken in context, I think it means a stupid question or answer.

Someone who tries to stir up you-know-what on an internet forum. Kind of like a bully.
