Answer:
On Y/A it is a name given to a user with multiple accounts(avatars) hurling abuse at others,,sometimes they can use anothers user name,,I have had 1 using my avatar name and several others accusing me of all sorts,,you will find them on news and events and religion and spirituality though they pop into other sites for a bit of disruption

When used on Yahoo, a troll is somebody that asks specific questions or gives specific answers just to incite other users and to start an argument. They usually frequent heated categories like Gender & Women Studies, Religion & Spirituality, or News & Events. An example of a troll in the G&WS category would be someone asking a question like: Why are all women stupid? so that people should get heated up and reply in angry ways.

Well a Troll is a type of Ogre in fairy tales, featured in Lord of The Rings, but I don't know whether people use that as a way of expressing themselves on this site, it's more than likely some sort of insult.

I am glad you asked this question! I have seen this used quite a bit lately and I have wondered the same thing myself. Just taken in context, I think it means a stupid question or answer.
