How do you delete your Yahoo! Answers account?
-
I'm getting really fed up with Yahoo Answers because I keep getting 'violations' for no reason... I was asking perfectly legit questions about the reliability of a Ford F-150 pick-up truck in the Cars&Transportation section under make> Ford. Seems pretty legit to me. Didn't use hate speech, didn't 'violate' any rules. Yet my question got deleted for a 'violation' and I got some massive penalties. So I'm really annoyed now and I want to delete my account. I'll probably get a violation for asking this question lol.... does anyone know how to delete a Yahoo! Answers account? I don't mind if it requires deleting my Yahoo! email account as well. Thank you!

I'm having the same problem, it's most likely a Top Contributor, there's some on here with issues that have nothing better to do than report peoples questions. Y!A needs to be more strict on who they allow to be TC or not. this'll tell you how to do it: http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en_GB&page=content&y=PROD_ACCT&id=SLN2044&pir=K2djr2FibUlfiJml0eSLQcc8zeK8Le_8A8wJT3p7O5RFp2mkkn3_A4vwyzyGmiG1p65nfsEPGqHkguPBD2USme5L31m5FxJwZrSUoiOcsFfbVa3psneUmML.wCDDL.BTNDNzWy_fIYjfLL5wj90jz59ZxjQvZR1RafzrkyO7ChfkuNiYzZCVIiPwAkejrt8CX8zPMcyGEq3ihJBDVd1AQa09rcuqACdc5klqP1pHD6jp5ccjIJkIaHFCT_Z3AVFo6EujqKTPa_duZSSAMyA4Ze8J8fv3wVOoT26_f2jwYgyHhHLWrc9C7IFzCbC_4D3m3TUSArqhkz78Ajgwuo_lvpQtrQeUrkSczPZuCggwSbiBZV1tkccZknq6vIGuWBVWbu6v

First off, you should know that even if your Answers account is suspended or deleted all of your old Q&A will remain on the site. You cannot delete your Answers account only. Staff can do it if you get many or severe violations, but that is a risky way to go because they can delete your entire Yahoo! account. You can terminate your entire Yahoo! account yourself. Be aware this will permanently remove access from all of your Yahoo! services associated with your account. You can do that with this link: https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user?.scrumb=/COAAhmEiQS but be sure you understand what it is you are losing. You could pretty much end your Answers account though, by hiding your Pulse profile, setting your privacy settings to My Contacts Only, removing all contacts, changing your username, disabling email and IM, and then simply don't use the account any more. Remember, whether you do this or terminate your entire account, all of your Q&A will remain on the site. As far as the violations go, if you didn't break the rules, explain so in your appeals. With any luck your posts and points will be restored and the reporter(s) will lose reporting influence in the future.

You really can't, only YA can delete a YA account. You could do this. Click your avatar, delete all your contacts click edit my info, delete the info in your profile including your personal avatar if you had one, set everything to private and , uncheck to receive ims or emails, click save. Don't return to the site.Your questions and answers remain on the site they are the property of Yahoo. it does not affect your email account, it remains active. Although your questions and answers would remain, an alternative would be to completely close all your Yahoo accounts. Go below follow the prompts. http://help.yahoo.com/l/in/yahoo/acct/acct_23.html

When you close your account, you will lose access to your Yahoo! ID, Yahoo! Mail, and profile names. Yahoo! will delete your account data and settings across the Yahoo! network. This means you will lose all of your content in Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Contacts, My Yahoo!, Yahoo! Groups, in your Yahoo! Finance Portfolio, and in any other area of Yahoo! that can only be accessed with your Yahoo! ID and password. Whatever is on the Main Board, in Resolved Q and in Undecided Q in voting remains in the system for ever unless it is reported by one or more reliable users. Whatever has ended up in Google and other websites remains there for ever or indefinitely. You can close your account via http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en_US&page=content&y=PROD_ACCT&id=SLN2044&impressions=false
