How do you become a "Top Contributor"?

You have to forfeit your social life, surround yourself with caffine pills and black coffee and immerse yourself in the evil that is yahoo answers.

Ive tried so hard to be a top contributor ive seen people in level two and the top contributor sigh so i dont think it matters

i dont think it's worth it... It's like wearing a medal from the special olympics, sure it's an award, but what benefits are you REALLY getting from it?

I am not sure how you become a Top Contributor. I have been trying and trying and I just don't understand. This week I have answered so many questions it's not even funny. I think they pick this some kind of way but I don't know how and it's driving me CRAZY!!!

You are able to become a Top Contributor at any level all you have to do if focus in a certain catagorie like I did Video & Online Games. So this is what you have to do: 1.Answer a lot in that catagorie you are interested in. 2.You can only become a top contributor in 3 catagories MAX so for now just stick with one. 3. You have to active on Yahoo!Answers by getting at least over to 200 points each week starting on Monday mornings that is when you restart your points in the week. 4.And try to answer with the best information you have on that question so you can get best answer! I became a top contributor last week well on that week I got 1100 points then when I woke up I saw a top contributor badge on my page. That is all, Good luck!

Hello, To become a TC(Top Contributer) you need to keep in mind 3 points:- 1)Select a particular category (Stick on to only one or two) 2)Earn lot of Best Answers 3)Remain active in that category which you have chosen. The exact formula of becoming a TC is not known to anyone except Yahoo to prevent users from gaining that badge by cheating..If users find out the exact formula of becoming a TC then they would misuse the purpose of becoming a TC.So Yahoo keeps this a secret. You can become a Top Contributer in 3 categories.Not many users know what the exact thing is to become a TC. (I think I know the point pretty close if not the exact one) The first step you have to do is select a particular category which you feel you can answer maximum number of questions. Eg:-If you feel you can answer in Pets,Games and Recreation,Chemistry and to name a few, select it. Secondly you have to earn lot of Best Answers..To earn more Best Answers you have to provide good quality answers with the right type of accurate information..Always try to be simple but at times explain a little bit in detail.If you answer 60 questions and get 10 Best Answers then you're likely to become a TC in that week.You have to get a minimum of 10-11% of BA in a particular category. •Also note that you should not answer questions which you feel you won't be getting a Best Answer at least until you become a TC.This will lower the percentage of your BA and you cannot become a TC. The third thing is becoming a TC does not depend upon your level or the number of points you have at present..It only depends upon your contribution and active participation.You do not have to answer hundreds of questions in a particular category.Answer at least 40-50 questions per week. That is 8-10 questions per day. Start with 5-6 and you can go to answer 20 questions soon. •You have to earn a minimum of 200 points per week to retain that badge. In order to become a Top Contributor, you need to do the following: You must answer questions in a single category. Out of those questions that you answer in that single category, you must get at least 10% of them as Best Answers. I didn't get my Top Contributor badge until I had answered about 250 questions in the Other-Games and Recreation category on Yahoo Answers, so I think that if ou answer a lot of questions in a single category, you have a better chance of getting the Top Contributor Badge. Out of the questions that you answer, you must get at least 10% of your answers to become Best Answers. Top Contributors can have the Badge in up to 3 different categories. I have found that every Monday evening is when the TC badges are updated, so look for them when you log in Tuesday Morning. Nobody knows the exact formula for becoming a Top Contributor, and the formula that they use to determine Top Contributors changes every so often in order to keep it that way. Hope this helps :)

By answering thousands of questions of one or more sections, it helps to get best answers. Top contributer only covers one specific category, so if youf best answer is forty percent overal, that wouldnt' really help. Sorry stewie
