How do I delete my past questions & answers?
-
I really want to clear my whole profile page, without removing my email (since it's attached to it, and to make an account you have to have an email) and well my past questions and answers were just jokes and they were not "real", and now were using Yahoo! Answers in school using our email accounts, so now it's really awkward when I'm using this in school and my classmates see my account and look at my previous questions and answers...so yeah, if you can help me that'd be great! Thanks!

Answer:
Once resolved or in voting you can't delete them. To delete a question while it's still open, go to the question , pass your mouse over the pencil icon in the toolbar below your question, click Delete Question. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers%E2%80%A6 All you can do is hope it is reported as a violation . Even resolved questions can be removed that way.If they violated community guidelines or revealed personal contact information (e.g. email address, phone numbers, address etc). you could try emailing the YA team [email protected] explaining as to why it (they) should be deleted, Yahoo will consider deleting them. The same as above applies to your answers.

You can not delete old questions and answers. You have to think about what you're asking or answering BEFORE you hit the submit button. If you think there's any reason you'd ever be sorry you asked it or answered... then you don't hit that submit button. You could set your questions and answers to privite so they can't be viewed in your profile, but they will always be in the categories they were place in... even if you canceled that Yahoo! ID.

Unfortunately, you cannot delete questions which are in the 'Resolved' or 'In Voting' stages as Yahoo! Answers want to keep as many questions as they can on the site for future reference, so that other users can view the questions and learn the answers. You CAN however, delete questions which are in the 'Open' stage by clicking on the little blue 'Delete' button right beneath your actual question. One thing you can do to prevent other people from accessing your questions, is by hiding them from other users. You can do this by: 1 - Click on the 'My Activity' tab at the top of the page to enter your Profile Page. 2 - Select 'Edit my Preferences' at the top of your Profile Page. 3 - Switch tabs to 'Privacy & Communications'. 4 - Scroll down to alter who can view your Q&A under the appropriate settings. I hope this helps :) Duffy Edge

You can only do that if it's Your question and not yet in voting. Once a question has been resolved it becomes the property of Yahoo answers and cannot be deleted. That is part of the rules of the site which you agreed to when you signed up.

You can't I'm afraid. Once it's out there it belongs to Yahoo.
