Why do accounts on yahoo answers get suspended?

Can Yahoo suspended you from Y!A for funsies?

  • So I have had 2 accounts suspended on here and no explanation as to why. I never received any violations or anything and my account was suspended. Another thing is all my questions I have asked and all my answers were deleted with no violation notices and all the questions I ever got best answer were deleted as well and those users never received a violation either. I emailed Yahoo to appeal my suspension and they just sent out the usual format email saying I was in violation of Y!A TOS. I did nothing to get suspended and I would like an explanation as to why I was suspended. Does anyone know who I can contact? I tried the abuse email and the appeal email for when you get a violation or reported and I haven't heard anything back

  • Answer:

Suspensions on this site CAN happen without notice of any kind; it says so right in the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up for a Yahoo account. 15. TERMINATION You agree that Yahoo! may, under certain circumstances and without prior notice, immediately terminate your Yahoo! account, any associated email address, and access to the Service. Cause for such termination shall include, but not be limited to (link provides list of reasons): http://info.yahoo.com/legal/us/yahoo/utos/utos-173.html Suspension of an account only happens after review by staff, and they don't do it arbitrarily. They are NOT ALLOWED to specifically state WHY you are suspended, for legal reasons. However, since you got no prior violation notices, the most likely reasons are those in the "illegal" part of the "Report Abuse" page - being underage, spamming, posting illegal links (or asking for illegal links), self-harm or harm to others, etc. The other possibility, of course, is that you DID get violation notices, but you never saw them. Have you checked your spam folder?

Forget funsies, this is a serious site if you violate the guidelines or TOS you can get suspended. You posted that you had two accounts suspended. Possibly suspended for multiple accounts. Yahoo doesn't seem to play favourites, it doesn't matter if you have been a member for day, a week,a month or years or are a top contributor the same rules apply to everyone. It also doesn't seem to matter the number of violations but more the severity or perceived severity of the violations. Yahoo takes a dim view of SPAM, bigotry, pornography , being underage 13, insulting other members, racism, cheating, anything that even borders on illegal such as drugs even soft drugs, downloading movies, music programs etc. or links to that kind of stuff Any of that can mean a speedy exit. If you are suspended Yahoo does not give a specific reason for the suspension. it can be a serious violation to have more than one YA account. If they are misused It is considered to be cheating and If you do all your accounts could be suspended http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/abuse/abuse-249517.html;_ylt=Ag1MyvoNQNX_1ok8kgYC2rBujSN4

Apparently they found out you were using multiple accounts..that is a TOS violation and for that they will terminate all your accounts as well as delete everything..

That's major I would try and get a phone number from the website if you can find one. There must be a contact number somewhere. Voice speaks louder than typing :)) You should cry down the phone to get their sympathy ;)))
