How do you get your account suspended?

How can an account get suspended without getting any violation notices?

  • I have a contact who just got suspended. He didn't receive any violation notices and he just made his account a couple days ago. Here's what happened: He tried to ask a question and Yahoo told him that he could answer 0 questions today. This would have been his first question, so that's impossible. Then his account said 206% BA. Then it said -31 Best Answers. Finally, he got suspended. What could have happened to cause his suspension?

  • Answer:

This is nuts Unless there is a Double Secret Probation against him (so that every time he tries to make a new account, he gets pounded), there is nothing that should cause him to get hammered so quickly The only other option is some wretched glitch in the system (and that is just as viable an option)

Getting suspended depends on the severity of the violation, a really bad one like terms of service can get you suspended immediately or minor ones like chatting it will take quite a few unless you get many very quickly in short space of time. When a user is Suspended for violating the Terms of Service or the Community Guidelines, their Yahoo! Answers account is disabled. They can still browse the website, but they cannot ask questions, or answers questions on the site. All Suspensions are permanent. You can only get your account back if you appeal for your account and your appeal is accepted, and that happens only when you are Suspended by a false violation, but 98.9% of the time, the appeals are declined, and so almost no one ever get their accounts back. If you violate the Yahoo! Terms of Service (impersonate someone, harass users here, use pornographic pictures) your account will be DEACTIVATED if Yahoo! receives a report. Difference between Suspension and account Deactivation is that you can still have your Yahoo! ID if you are Suspended (as in you can still use your Yahoo! Mail and other Yahoo! services except Yahoo! Answers), but if your account is Deactivated, you will lose your entire Yahoo! ID, and won't be able to sign in into your email

There are many violations that you do not get a notice about before suspenion. Racists or vile posts or things involving illegal activity and copyright violations. I admit. the numbers you give are screwy. You say it was a new account. If the person had been suspended before, the level to suspension is much lower than if not. If a new account is created to soon after a previous suspension, screwy things can happen.

ROFL @ 206% BA, then -31BAs - that made my night seriously LOL Anyway Idk but Y!A has been messing up lately that might be some kind of mistake. But so you know, if it is a 'community guideline violation', you might get several before getting suspended. But if it is a 'Terms of Service violation', you get suspended at once - that's what I heard. __ Whizz nailed it.

Wish I could give you an answer, but I can't. At least I posted in your question though lol. : )

Abstract

Well, possibly somebody hacked into the account or ur friend has a virus in the computer. Ur friend can email Yahoo Answers and appeal the violation saying that there was no violation(s). Yahoo will review the case and unsuspend the person.

To have gotten 206% BA and -31 Best Answers, he had to have been caught either spamming -- or pointgaming. If he was posting with one account, answering with another, and giving himself Best Answer -- that would do it when he was finally caught. His 'phony' Best Answers would be stripped. But since they update the TOTAL answers and BEST answers differently, this causes things like 206% BA -- and -31 Best Answers to happen. Then, as a result of that 'stripping', the suspension happened. It may all have happened so quickly that no notices were even sent out. That said, the OTHER possibility is that an enormous glitch DID happen. I've not heard of ones that will do this, but with YA, you simply never know. He can try posting to the FORUM to see if anybody there may have a way of finding this out. The staff do read and even sometimes answer at the Forum. The link is UNDER the list of categories on the LEFT side of the YA pages.

If the question against community guidline you will just get a suspension' But if they think it illegal(ex. Threats,Harms to minor, & being racist) your account will get suspended by Y!A without a single violation notice.(except when its says your account get suspended). That what happen more then one users thought he answer or question was illegal. If he want to try to get a back, he can appeal, but he will not get back.
