Why can't I change my avatar photo and name. I choose another photo and click 'submit' but nothing happens.?

I can't even change my avatar name..why? My avatar photo and name changed a couple of days ago to the default 'orange !' that you can see, and my avatar name was changed to '?' How can change them back? I've tried edit preferences and choose photo.... it just doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas please?
