Why is "yahoo answers" much more successful than "rediff questions and answers?

Why do people answer your questions if they do not know the answer. on yahoo answers.?

  • you ask a serious question but I haven't on this account. anyway you ask a question which is very serious and you noticed 3 people answered your question. and you think yes finally. can you click on it and you get 3 stupid pathetic answers. why answer a question if you do not know the answers. I bet they ask questions and expect a good answer. so why do they give immature crap answers. but if you ask a stupid immature question. sometimes you get a fantastic answer. that is so annoying. example the question you already know the answer to. you ask and you get long experience good answers. and also on a good question what you need to know. you get like 2 or 5 word answer. why do people give you like at 5 word answer. it is so stupid. okay you ask a very good question and you get like a 5 word answer. people are just so damn lazy. but when they ask questions I bet they expect good answers. and questions what is easy but I need to know. just comments like I get like 2 answers and it's not even that answer and answers like I wouldn't worry about it. it's a good question. just answers like I wouldn't worry about it. why can't people spend 5 minutes writing as good answer. but fear ask questions and expect a good answer. people should answer questions just like how they want people to answer there's

If what people answer doesn't answer the question and isn't helpful, you should report their "answer" as "not an answer"(and so should anyone who sees it) If noone gives a decent answer, you should delete the question before it goes "in voting", or click "no best answer"

I don't ask questions on yahoo! anymore because I just got stupid answers in which the person didn't even read my question, then these ridiculous answers were voted "best answer" anyway! It is infuriating. I think it is because of the way yahoo! answers is structured. There is no way to comment on answers, and therefore no way to correct inaccuracies. The points system rewards putting any response down, rather than providing an answer that is correct so people put any old rubbish down even if it isn't helpful. They then get points anyway. Since you can't vote on answers until you get to a certain level then I think a lot of first time users leave when they get a stupid answer, which then they can't point out that it is wrong. It's a classic case of quantity over quality. I'm sure there are good people on here, but I've found the vast majority to be worse than unhelpful.
