How do you get selected as a top contributor on yahoo answers?

  • Is there a specific topic that you have to post under in order to become a top contributor or can you answer other topics and still become a top contributor in other catagories? Did you get notified by e-mail that you were chosen as a top contributor? What criteria does it take in order to become a top contributor on yahoo answers? Does the amount of posts matter or is it the best answers that makes you a top contributor on yahoo answers? Thank you for any information that you would be willing to share about this! ;-)

A "Top Contributor" is a member of the Yahoo Answers community who has shown that they are knowledgeable in a certain category. Each user COULD be a top contributor in a maximum of three categories, but recently it seems we can only be a top contributor in one category, although yahoo hasn’t informed us of this change. You need to be over 10% (You can't be on 10%, you need to be on 11%) and you need to be a frequent participant on a certain category and get above 10%. You will get the badge on the Monday when yahoo answers updates the weekly leaderboards.
